Unlocking the Power of Microfluidics: A Recap of the Microfluidics Consortium Meeting - Cambridge UK

Microfluidics Innovation Hub presenting at Microfluidics Consortium Open Das at Cambridge, UK.

The recent Microfluidics Consortium meeting held in Cambridge, UK, was nothing short of exceptional. As part of the global initiative, Dr. Baxani-Kamal, the Technical Program Manager of our team, joined forces to delve deep into the world of microfluidics and share groundbreaking insights.

Exploring NextGenMicrofluidics (NGM)

At the heart of our discussion was NextGenMicrofluidics (NGM), an Open Innovation Test Bed under EU Horizon 2020. NGM stands as the world's largest platform for the development of microfluidic systems. We are proud to serve as the single-entry point to the combined services of our partners, making innovative microfluidic solutions accessible to all.

Navigating the MIH Value Chain

Our Microfluidics Innovation Hub (MIH) takes you through the microfluidics journey, from the working principles of microfluidic chips to complete microfluidic solutions. The MIH Toolbox includes everything from assay design and patterning to surface functionalization, electrodes, sensors, backend services, and read-out devices.

Typical Service Entry Points

We showcased typical service entry points for optimizing processes, designing assays, transferring and scaling manufacturing, and enhancing read-out, control, and integration. Among the highlights was the successful manufacture transfer to Genspeed, achieving remarkable results in serological COVID testing.

An Open Call for Innovation

As part of our commitment to innovation, we're currently accepting applications for open calls. If you're a company ranging from start-ups to large enterprises with projects at TRL 4 and above, you have access to a combination of services, with a budget of up to EUR 200,000 and funded services up to 90%. The call is open until March 2024. Learn more at Open Call Details.

The Microfluidics Consortium meeting was a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and the boundless potential of microfluidics. We are excited about the future and invite you to visit our booth at upcoming events to join us on this incredible journey.

Stay tuned for more updates and exciting developments in the world of microfluidics!
