JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH (JR)

The Materials Institute of Joanneum Research focuses on the manufacturing value chain for lab-on-a-foil (LoF) components. Starting with the design of microfluidic structures for different applications, the institute  develops imprinting resins with tunable properties, methods for roll-to-roll (R2R) UV-NIL patterning on flexible substrates, R2R microarray spotting and bio-reagent dispensing, and R2R UV-based lamination.

BiFlow Systems GmbH (BF)

BiFlow Systems GmbH has developed technologies to integrate complex assays into small, self-contained cartridges which can be used at the point-of-need. The cartridges contain integrated micropumps, reagent storage capabilites and may be even equipped with integrated heating functionalities. BiFlow works on the upscaling of microfluidic manufacturing technologies and shortening microfluidic design cycles.
